CBRE Group, Inc. has announced a series of appointments to its U.S. and Canada advisory business, with Chris Connelly promoted to executive group president of the division.

Previously the group president of the eastern U.S. and Canada advisory and global president of CBRE’s property management business, Connelly began working for the Dallas-headquartered company in 2004 as managing director of the Chicago suburban office brokerage group.

At his latest role, his priorities will be providing executive oversight for the U.S. and Canada market (except New York) and its leasing business.

Commercial real estate services and investments firm CBRE has a significant presence in Canada, with 23 offices across the country and a workforce of just under 4,000 professionals. The head office of CBRE Canada is in Toronto.

Other leadership appointed

In other appointments in the division, James Millon and Tommy Lee were tapped as co-heads of CBRE's U.S. and Canada capital markets business.

Lee was the global head of capital markets for Trammell Crow Company, CBRE’s real estate development subsidiary, where he managed the company’s global joint venture and financing strategy. While he was at Trammell Crow, the company capitalized over US$22 billion of development since 2018.

Millon previously served as president of CBRE’s U.S. debt and structured finance team. A specialist in the debt capital markets, his previous roles include co-head of U.S. large loans and director of commercial real estate loan origination and capital markets businesses at Deutsche Bank.

Mike Casey, the former COO of the U.S. and Canada advisory services, was elevated to the newly created role of chief data officer for the advisory team. He had also previously worked as executive managing director for CBRE’s New York City offices.

Pete Schippits was named president of the east region and Canada for the advisory group, transitioning from his oversight of the west region.

"These promotions reflect our commitment to investing in our best people and allowing them to rise," Vikram Kohli, global CEO of CBRE’s advisory services and COO of CBRE, said in the announcement. "Their expertise and leadership will help us navigate evolving market conditions and create the best outcomes for our clients and our people."
