Colliers names 2 senior execs; Brooks retiring from REALPAC...

Colliers (CIGI-T) has announced two senior executive appointments, naming Christian Mayer global chief financial officer and CEO of commercial real estate, and Elias Mulamoottil global chief investment officer and CEO of engineering.

“With a combined four decades at Colliers, Christian and Elias bring deep experience, proven leadership, and a strong commitment to our enterprising culture,” Jay Hennick, founder, global chairman and CEO, said in the announcement.

Mayer will oversee Colliers’ CRE segment and continue to lead enterprise-wide financial strategy. In this expanded role, Mayer will focus on advancing long-term value creation in Colliers’ largest platform.

Mulamoottil will be charged with driving growth across the global engineering platform and continue to oversee Colliers’ investment strategy. Upon closing of the recently announced acquisition of Ayesa, Colliers Engineering will operate in over 20 countries with more than 13,000 professionals.

As part of the transition, Colliers also announced Chris McLernon, CEO of real estate services, will retire at the end of April following a nearly 40-year career with the company.

“Chris has been instrumental in shaping Colliers across multiple regions and at the global level over the years,” Hennick said. “We are grateful for his leadership and commitment to Colliers and wish him well in retirement.”

Brooks to retire as REALPAC head

REALPAC CEO Michael Brooks will step down from the position at the end of 2027, following more than 28 years leading the association.

Brooks has been a leading voice for Canada’s commercial real estate industry, representing the interests of the country’s institutional, public and private real estate investment and development companies. Under his leadership, REALPAC has advanced market and regulatory transformation, including advocacy on REIT policy, cross-border and domestic tax matters, capital markets regulation, and affordable housing policy. He has also been recognized for leadership in sustainability and green building. 

Beyond REALPAC, Brooks has served on the boards of the World Green Building Council, GRESB BV, Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth, and the Toronto Foundation.

Previously, he was partner and real estate practice group leader at Aird & Berlis LLP.

Hoffman steps up to become Kadestone CEO

Kadestone Capital Corp. (KDSX-X) has named Kevin Hoffman its new CEO and a director of the firm, promoting him from the position of chief development officer.

Hoffman joined Kadestone in 2025 after a tenure as CEO of Vanprop Investments. Previously, as president of Aquilini Development and Construction, he managed a portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects. 

His career spans over two decades, with prior roles at Concord Pacific Group and as a founding partner of Bluestone Construction.

"Kevin brings deep industry experience, a strong strategic vision and a demonstrated ability to lead organizations through growth and transformation,” Anthony Holler, Kadestone’s board chair, said in the announcement.

Brent Billey will retain the role of president and remain on the board of directors. 

Colla joins CPP Investments’ senior management

David Colla has been promoted to senior managing director and global head of credit investments at CPP Investments, effective April 1. He will also join the senior management team.

Colla succeeds Andrew Edgell, who has decided to step away from the role. After 18 years in a range of senior leadership positions at CPP Investments, Edgell will remain as a senior advisor.

Colla joined CPP Investments in 2010 and most recently led the capital solutions group. During his tenure, he has overseen the expansion of the Americas leveraged finance and structured credit businesses and played a key role in the acquisition and ongoing management of Antares Capital. 

He serves on the boards of Antares Capital and Antares Holdings.

Wong transitions to Newmark Group

Longtime commercial real estate professional Ray Wong has transitioned from Altus Group to Newmark Group, along with a team of former Altus employees after the sale of its appraisals business to Newmark.

Wong, who had spent nine years with Altus Group initially as vice-president, data operations and later as vice-president, data solutions client delivery, takes on the role of vice-president research, valuation and advisory at Newmark.

Prior to that he had spent almost 18 years at CBRE culminating as executive director of Americas research operations.

A well-known speaker and oft-quoted CRE source within Canadian media, Wong has over 35 years of experience in the industry.

Olson joins Partner Assessment Corp. as director

Coralie Olson has joined Partner Assessment Corporation’s Toronto office as a director, to lead strategic client engagement and support the growth of Partner’s integrated services across Canada.

With more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, Olson has supported major development and redevelopment projects across mixed-use, office, retail, multifamily and large master-planned communities. Her work includes high-profile assets and portfolios for organizations such as Brookfield Properties, Oxford Properties Group, QuadReal, Ivanhoé Cambridge, Cadillac Fairview, Howard Hughes Holdings, JLL, and Colliers. 

Bernard returns to SIB as VP of operations

Société immobilière Bélanger (SIB) has appointed Pierre-Olivier Bernard as vice-president of operations, following a 12-year hiatus from the firm.

Having served as general manager of SIB from 2012 to 2014, he is returning to support the rest of the company’s senior management in an expanded, cross-functional role.

After gaining over a decade of experience at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), where he led a provincial financing team and spearheaded major digital transformation projects, Bernard will be responsible for overseeing all of SIB’s operations. From real estate management to human resources, marketing, and accounting, he will assist in structuring the next phase of SIB's expansion.

McEwen joins Savills as SVP in Toronto

Savills Canada has hired Sheri McEwen as senior vice-president in its Toronto office, bringing her retail expertise spanning leasing, asset services and retail asset management across Canada.

With over 18 years of experience, McEwen has advised a range of retail stakeholders and developed deep knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape. In this new role, she will work closely with Jordan Karp, head of Canadian retail services. 

Before joining Savills, McEwen served as senior vice-president, retail leasing – asset services at Cushman & Wakefield. Earlier, she worked on the retail asset management team at Epic Investment Services and in leasing with Ivanhoé Cambridge.

Hirings, promotions at Lennard

Lennard Commercial Realty has promoted Joe Rosati to senior vice-president, where he’ll leverage his market insight and leadership in complex transactions. It is one of a series of internal promotions and hirings the firm has announced.

Elise Ngo-Wong has been promoted to vice president, specializing in industrial leasing, industrial sales and investment sales.

Nick Yanovski has joined Lennard’s Markham and Toronto offices as executive vice-president. Prior to Lennard, he worked with Avison Young’s Toronto capital markets group, and as managing director of capital markets at Cushman & Wakefield.

Amélie Trudeau has been hired to join the Markham office. She started her real estate career at CBRE in Montreal, where she also worked at First Capital Realty. She moved to Toronto 10 years ago, specializing in retail tenant representation at Oberfeld Snowcap.

Alternawork founder Richard Myers has also joined the Toronto office, moving over from his former associate VP position at Cushman and Wakefield.
