
Fiera Capital Corporation (FSZ-T) has announced Maxime Ménard will become its global president and CEO effective July 1, in addition to a series of other senior management appointments.
Jean-Guy Desjardins, the founder of Fiera Capital and executive chair of its board, will step back from the president and CEO roles but will continue to provide strategic oversight and direction.
"This decision reflects a clear conviction: Maxime is the right leader to take Fiera Capital forward," Desjardins said in the announcement. "He brings the discipline, integrity, and strategic focus required to execute our vision and strengthen the firm for the long term."
Since joining Fiera in January 2024 as president and CEO of Fiera Canada and global private wealth, Ménard has "played a central role in stabilizing operations and aligning teams around a shared culture of accountability and performance" the announcement states. He provides extensive experience in the global investment landscape.
Prior to joining Fiera, Ménard spent nearly two decades at Jarislowsky Fraser, including five years as president and CEO. He holds a BBA from York University and an MBA from HEC Montréal.
Fiera also appointed Gabriel Castiglio as its executive director and global chief operating officer. He will work closely with Ménard to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the firm's operating model. Lucas Pontillo, Fiera's executive director and global chief financial officer, will also lead corporate strategy.
In a separate announcement, Michael Le Coche was named vice-president, research and predictive analytics at Fiera. He joined the company in 2012 as director, strategy and research. Le Coche’s experience includes time with TD Canada Trust, CIBC, Investors Group and House of Horvath.
Young succeeds Vandewouw at KRP
Terry Young has assumed the president’s role at KRP Properties in the wake of the retirement of longtime company head Martin Vandewouw.
Vandewouw is leaving his position with the property management company after being in the president's chair since 2002. During his time, the company doubled its real estate portfolio, while Vandewouw also helped it navigate a serious of challenging times within the real estate industry including the economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He had joined the firm after spending time at Bell Northern Research, which eventually became Nortel Networks. Vandewouw received his Bachelor of Applied Science in electrical engineering at the University of Waterloo.
While he transitions into retirement, Vandewouw will act as senior advisor to KRP.
Young joined KRP in 2013 as director of property management, moving up to vice-president, operations in 2018. Previously, he spent more than 10 years as general manager at the Atlantic Shopping Centre.
New CFO for Real Brokerage
Ravi Jani has been appointed chief financial officer of The Real Brokerage (REAX-Q). He will succeed Michelle Ressler, who recently exited the company.
Jani brings 17 years of experience to his new position. Prior to joining The Real Brokerage, Jani served as vice-president of investor relations at BLADE, held investment analyst roles at Citadel and Anchor Bolt Capital, and began his career in investment banking at Bank of America and Moelis & Company.
Jani joined Real in 2023 as vice-president of investor relations and financial planning and analysis, when the company had approximately 12,000 agents.
Since then, it has more than doubled to include over 27,000 agents.
Jani was recently named a 2025 HousingWire Rising Star, which recognizes housing industry leaders younger than 40.
Brown joins JLL as managing director
Vince Brown will assume the role of executive managing director of property management at JLL (JLL-N), effective May 21.
Brown is currently chief executive officer at Capital City Shopping Centre, where he has served since early 2021. He previously spent more than 20 years in various senior capacities working with Triovest.
Brown also remains active working with the Real Property Association of Canada (REALPAC) and the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA).
New V-P at Canadian Urban
Sorab Gill has been promoted to vice-president, head of capital formation and investor relations at Canadian Urban Limited.
Gill will lead the firm’s capital formation and investor relations team. He moved to the company in 2019 when he joined the acquisitions and dispositions department. Previously, he worked at Terragold Capital and Colliers Canada.
C&W Ottawa names two new partners
Scott Brooker and Neil Mason have been named partners at Cushman & Wakefield Ottawa.
Brooker first came onboard with the firm in 2008, and has closed more than $2 billion in commercial transactions during his time with C&W. He was named associate vice-president in 2019, moving up to vice-president in 2023.
Mason joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2015 as a sales representative before moving up to associate vice-president.
Paquin new chair at CREA
The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has appointed Valérie Paquin as chair of its 2025-2026 board of directors.
Paquin is a realtor and broker-manager from Blainville, Que., and has spent almost 20 years in the industry.
She has served as a volunteer on Greater Montreal Real Estate Board committees (now the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers) and has chaired numerous committees with CREA.
Also joining the board are Garry Bhaura, chair-elect, Darin Germyn, vice-chair. James Mabey will serve as immediate past chair.
