Empire Communities is rebranding to be known as Empire Homes, a name the company’s co-CEOs say better reflects the core of its business - developing all types of housing across North America.
“Changing our name to Empire Homes marks a defining moment in our evolution,” Daniel Guizzetti, Empire’s co-chief executive officer, said in this week’s announcement. “It’s a name that captures the clarity of our purpose and the strength of our commitment to homebuilding.”
“Homes speaks directly to what we do and why we do it: to guide people toward a future they can grow into - starting with a home and extending into the communities we’re proud to help build,” Andrew Guizzetti, Empire’s other co-chief executive officer, added.
“As we look to the future, our vision is to be more than a builder - we want to be a trusted partner in one of life’s most meaningful milestones.”
The brand refresh includes a new visual identity, updated messaging, and an enhanced digital experience, including a revamped website.
Empire Homes corporate history
Toronto-based Empire has over 30 years of history in the sector. The company is fully vertically integrated, involved in all aspects of the homebuilding and sales process.
One of North America’s largest privately held homebuilders, Empire builds and develops in over 100 in-town and suburban communities across Toronto, Southwestern Ontario, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Colorado.
Its current projects in Ontario include two highrises in Toronto (Quay House and Maverick), as well as housing developments in Brantford, Hamilton, Kitchener/Waterloo and the Niagara Region.
Empire's strategy is to target primarily entry-level and move-up buyers with a range of product offerings.
Since its inception in 1993, Empire has built over 38,000 new homes and condos, representing close to $16 billion in housing sales. Empire current land and development pipeline represents more than 29,000 potential future homesites in the planning, development and/or construction phases.
The company is also growing through acquisitions. Its most recent transaction involved SouthCraft Home Builders, based in Charlotte, N.C. Empire stated at the time the acquisition fits with its strategy of focusing on markets with strong growth potential in both the U.S. and Canada.
SouthCraft has a half-dozen housing developments in the region either selling now, or in the final pre-development stages.
